How to Write a Caption
In early February I learned how to write captions. To write a caption you must answer who, what, when, where, why, and how. Your caption should identify the people in the photo and describe the action in the present tense. There are two types of captions, basic captions, and extended captions. A basic caption is one sentence long and answers who, what, where, and when. An extended caption is three sentences, you achieve this by adding two sentences more to your basic caption. It includes a quote and answers why, and how. After completing my assignment, I knew how to write basic and extended captions.
The caption I wrote for this image: ‘Wednesday’ actor Jenna Ortega attending the 80th Annual Golden Globes Awards ceremony. The Best Television Actress in a Musical or Comedy Series nominee walked the red carpet to represent her show and explore her newly found fame. “I definitely feel like there’s been a shift in my life and I feel like it's definitely a new time in my life,” Jenna told The Entertainment Times.
