Why Headlines are Important

When creating a headline make sure to include, what, why, how, or when. Headlines should establish a verbal and visual connection to the dominant photo. A teaser and teller are also important parts of a headline. A teaser attracts the reader's attention either visually or verbally, while the teller provides information. Without a headline, the reader will not know what the story is about without reading it. This can cause readers to be uninterested in a story.
